What is OMI all about ?
Our Man In is the brainchild of Martin Miller, well known for his low threshold of boredom and for creating pointless but sometimes amusing concepts. You may feel this is one of them. Join up now; after all, what have you got to lose? It's free and it's fun!

Why should I join ?
You should join if you are the sort of individual who enjoys travelling and experiencing new exciting places. Our Man In is the perfect little black book, giving you access to English speaking contacts around the world.

How do I join ?
Send us your email address with a few words about yourself and we'll be in touch.

Do I have to be invited by another agent ?
Our Man In appoints and maintains a membership of reliable and informed special agents. Thus all new agents must be invited by an existing agent and be approved by our Spymaster.

Is OMI for men only ?
Absolutely not. We appoint the best person for each posting regardless of sex.

How much does it cost ?
It costs nothing.

What experience do I need ?
The only experience needed is an intelligent approach and an in-depth knowledge of the town or city in which you have been appointed. It is not necessary for you to reside full-time in your allocated area.

How many members will there be ?
Our ultimate aim is to have agents operating across the face of the globe. Obviously some areas will be larger than others but in time our organisation will number thousands - nay…many thousands – of agents.

Will non-members have access to members?
No. The organisation is strictly for members only. MM will frown very severely on any agent divulging their password to lesser mortals.

Can my partner and I join as a couple ?
Absolutely not. Our experience in the world of espionage has taught us that partners can be indiscreet. Your partner can, however, apply for an individual posting.

What sort of people will be members ?
In the main we try to avoid three-legged, two-headed freaks and tend to invite people with a more conventional anatomical make-up. In reality our members will be people who love life and enjoy sharing it.

What's different about Our Man In?
OMI is the only online community that has a worldwide network of local experts with a sense of humour. After all, why should the kids have all the fun?

How many friends can I invite to join ?
In theory there is no limit to the number of friends you are allowed to recruit but bear in mind that our aim is quality not quantity.

Do I have to post up a photograph of myself ?
Posting a photo is not compulsory but we feel that special agents need to see what their counterparts look like.

Must I provide all the information requested ?
You don't have to do anything in this life but a few words about your posting and yourself will be of real interest to other agents contacting you.

Can I meet other OMIs if I want to ?
That's completely up to you and the agent in question. In the spirit of the organisation, we will issue field kits that will include recognition aids should you ever have occasion to meet in clandestine circumstances . . . more to follow.

Are my personal telephone number and other details available to agents ?
All your personal information is completely confidential. All that will be available to other special agents is that which appears on your passport profile page. If you wish to disclose your telephone number or email address it is entirely up to you.

How does ‘My Favourite Place' work ?
In the space beneath the textbox on your passport page, you can list up to ten of your favourite hotels, restaurants, clubs and special places. Just follow the instructions.

What are ‘Intelligence Reports' ?
Intelligence reports should contain information on new openings in your location, events that may be of interest and any local gossip you feel will stimulate the juices of your worldwide agents.

How do I receive and post ‘Intelligence Reports' ?
Click directly on ‘Intelligence Reports' and follow the simple instructions. Your report when posted will be submitted to our Spymaster for verification

How do I contact a special agent ?
Find the region you want to visit and go to ‘Contact An Agent'. The agent's passport page will come up: go to the text box, write your message and press submit - and Bob's your uncle!

In large cities will you limit the number of agents ?
No. Cities will be subdivided and agents will be posted to the area where they either live or have in-depth knowledge.

Will all special agents speak English?
Yes, my dear boy, and some more loudly than others.

How do I resign or obtain a new posting ?
By contacting Spymaster at OMI. You will of course be expected to return all confidential documents, Aston Martins, suicide pills and your little black book and your name will be stricken from the record.

Can I be an OMI in more than one place?
Yes you can. Click on ‘Amend Your Details'. At the bottom of the scroll-down page you will see a section where you can apply for an additional posting.

Do I have to give my real name ?
Yes.

Can I choose any codename I like ?
Yes, as long as it hasn't already been chosen by another special agent.

How do I receive emails from other agents ?
When another agent has emailed you, the message will appear in your inbox. You can read the message and, to reply, click the link provided.

What if I don't reply or play the game ?
You will incur the wrath of Spymaster. If you persist in ignoring the communications you will be re-posted to our Siberian bureau, the sinbin.

Can I promote my own business on my favourites page ?
Yes you can.

Your Miller's ‘safe house' in London, can I pop in at any time and what does it cost
?
Any agent can drop in with prior notification for debriefing and intoxication.

Can I stay at Miller's and do I get special rates ?
Miller's Residence has rooms available and a discount will be given. Contact Spymaster.

Can I send bulk email to all the special agents ?
No. If you wish to communicate to all agents this must be approved by MM at HQ.

Will I get a lot of unwanted junk email ?
It is very unlikely. If you do, contact Spymaster immediately.

What does head of protocol do ?
Head of Protocol ensures that the behaviour of special agents does not bring the organisation into disrepute. His powers range from a severe ticking off to, in extreme circumstances, sending in ‘The Cleaner'.
